I believe it was the first time we've all been together for Thanksgiving since we cousins were born and the blessings are still soaking in.
Growing up, extended family was a far off group of much loved people.
But, this thanksgiving, we were all living breathing individuals with stories and things we dream of being and doing. Getting to hear and feel and touch so many of these precious people was a great gift.
Sleeping in tents to be closer together. Watching our disparate traditional dishes gather on the table to create a cohesive meal. We all share the same blood but we all have such different stories now.
May I be the kind of woman who keeps listening and caring even from hundreds of miles away. It can be exhausting for sure, but the rewards are astounding.
