A new aloe plant has joined the ranks of herbs on our windowsill. In need of a little recuperation, we're watching him for my mother while he basks in the strangely vibrant April sunshine that comes pouring through our windows.
In an effort to not get too attached (in case he continues his decline or returns to my mother), we have refrained from naming him like the other plants and refer to him as John Doe. Unfortunately, we're both already quite attached despite our efforts. He's got spunk, this plant.
update 9/10/15: The aloe is alive, well, and growing like crazy. Bright green and stretching further every day, she is named "Gertrude."
